The converter supports 9 bead brands across two categories: seed beads (for loom weaving, peyote stitch, and embroidery) and fuse beads (for pegboard pixel art). Below you'll find the official manufacturer website and Amazon shopping links for each brand.

All 9 brands and the converter's cross-brand color references are included in every version. The Photo-to-Pattern Converter opens with its own license key (Photo Converter Pro, $34.95), or with a Krazy Stitcher Pro or Studio key.

Seed Beads

Seed Bead

Miyuki Delica 11/0

474 colors · Cylinder shape, 1.6mm · Made in Hiroshima, Japan (est. 1949)

The world standard for precision seed beads. Miyuki Delicas are perfectly uniform cylinders — ideal for loom work, peyote, brick stitch, and any technique that demands tight, even rows. The converter includes all 474 standard 11/0 Delica colors.

Seed Bead

TOHO 11/0 Round

304 colors · Round shape, 2.1mm · Made in Hiroshima, Japan (est. 1951)

Precision-sized round seed beads with an extra-large hole — the go-to choice for bead weaving that requires multiple thread passes. TOHO and Miyuki are frequently substituted for each other; the converter's cross-reference shows you the closest match between them.

Thread

DMC Embroidery Thread

285 colors · 6-strand cotton floss · Made in Mulhouse, France (est. 1746)

The classic embroidery thread brand, used worldwide for cross-stitch and needlework. The converter maps DMC thread colors to patterns so you can work in thread instead of beads — and the built-in DMC-to-Delica cross-reference lets you switch between the two.

Seed Bead

Mill Hill Seed Beads

115 colors · Glass seed beads · Distributed by Wichelt Imports, USA

Popular with cross-stitch beaders for their consistent sizing and wide color range. Mill Hill beads are designed to sit neatly on fabric alongside stitched patterns. The converter's cross-reference maps Mill Hill colors to their closest Miyuki Delica equivalents.

Placed on a pegboard and ironed

Fuse Beads

Fuse Bead

Perler Midi

117 colors · 5mm tube shape · USA

The most widely available fuse bead brand in North America. Place beads on a pegboard, iron to fuse, and you've got pixel art you can hold. The converter's cross-reference maps Perler colors to Hama and Artkal equivalents so you can mix brands freely.

Fuse Bead

Hama Midi

89 colors · 5mm tube shape · Made in Denmark (est. 1961)

Europe's leading fuse bead brand, created by Malte Haaning and sold in over 50 countries. Hama Midi beads are the same 5mm size as Perler, making them pegboard-compatible. The converter shows you which Perler colors to substitute when Hama isn't available locally.

Fuse Bead

Artkal S-Series

176 colors · 2.6mm mini · Made in Shenzhen, China

The go-to brand for detailed pixel art. Artkal's 2.6mm mini beads give you roughly 4x the resolution of standard 5mm fuse beads on the same pegboard area. Made from food-grade PE material. The converter cross-references Artkal colors to their closest Perler equivalents.

Fuse Bead

NABBI Midi

30 colors · 5mm tube shape · Made in Uppsala, Sweden (est. 1958)

A Swedish craft classic. NABBI also makes BioBeads — biodegradable fuse beads made from rapeseed oil and chalk. Smaller color range but excellent quality and an eco-friendly option.

Fuse Bead

MARD

221 colors · 2.6mm mini · Sorted and packed near Paris, France

A specialty 2.6mm mini fuse bead line with one of the largest color palettes in the mini bead category — 221 colors. Compatible with Artkal mini pegboards. Popular in the European pixel art community.

MARD does not operate a standalone manufacturer website.

Buying Tips

Use the Recipe step.

After converting your photo, the converter generates a complete materials list with exact bead numbers and quantities. Use that list when shopping — no guesswork.

Cross-reference before you buy.

If your preferred brand is out of stock, the converter's cross-reference column shows you the closest match in another brand, rated "excellent" or "good." An excellent match means the colors are nearly indistinguishable.

Seed beads vs. fuse beads.

Seed beads (Miyuki, TOHO, DMC, Mill Hill) are tiny and threaded onto string or fabric — they make jewelry, woven panels, and embroidered pieces. Fuse beads (Perler, Hama, Artkal, NABBI, MARD) are placed on pegboards and heat-fused — they make pixel art, coasters, and decorative panels. The converter supports both.

Buy a few extras.

A good rule of thumb is 10–15% more beads than the recipe calls for, to account for drops, rejects, and that one bead that rolls under the couch.
