What is Pattern Folio?
Pattern Folio is a portfolio manager for organizing your bead patterns. It gives you a visual workspace with thumbnails, tags, status tracking, bead counts, and shopping lists — everything you need to manage your pattern collection in one place.
Adding Patterns
Click the Add Pattern button in the toolbar to create a new entry. Fill in the pattern name, type, and status, then drag-and-drop or browse to attach a thumbnail image. Your pattern is saved automatically to local storage.
Pattern Views
- Grid View — displays patterns as visual thumbnail cards, great for browsing at a glance.
- List View — shows compact rows with key details, ideal for working through a large collection.
Use the view toggle buttons in the toolbar to switch between them.
Filtering & Search
Use the sidebar filters to narrow patterns by status (Design, In Progress, Complete) or by tag. You can also type in the search bar to find patterns by name instantly.
Pattern Details
Click any pattern card to open the detail panel. Here you can see the full thumbnail, edit all fields, manage bead counts, add notes, and more.
Tip: Double-click a pattern's name in grid view to quickly rename it.
Bead Count Editor
Inside each pattern's detail panel, add bead entries with a color name, hex color picker, and quantity. The total bead count updates in real time as you add or edit entries.
Shopping List
The Shopping List aggregates bead counts across all your patterns — so you can see exactly how many of each bead color you need in total. Export the list as a CSV file to take with you when bead shopping.
Tags
Create color-coded tags to organize patterns by project, technique, or any category you like. Assign multiple tags to a single pattern, and filter by tag in the sidebar.
PDF Catalog
Print your entire portfolio as a visual catalog. Pattern Folio uses browser print-to-PDF so you can save a beautifully formatted overview of your collection.
Import / Export
Back up your entire portfolio as a JSON file, or restore from a previous backup. The export includes all patterns, tags, bead counts, and settings — nothing is lost.
Freemium
The free tier allows up to 10 patterns. Upgrade for unlimited patterns and full access to all features.
Tip: Export a backup regularly so you never lose your work.
What It Does
When enabled, Pattern Folio can exchange pattern data with Krazy Stitcher Pro or Studio. This lets you move patterns between the design tool and your portfolio manager seamlessly.
How to Enable
Open Settings (the gear icon in the header), then toggle "Enable KS Integration" on. Once connected, you'll see the "KS Connected" badge appear in the header.
Workflow
- Export finished patterns from Krazy Stitcher Pro or Studio.
- Import them into Pattern Folio for organization and status tracking.
- Use the Shopping List to aggregate bead counts and plan your purchases.
- Track each pattern's progress from Design through to Complete or Sold.
Tips for Integration
Keep both apps open side-by-side for the smoothest workflow. Design in KS, then switch to Pattern Folio to catalog and track your finished patterns. The Shopping List becomes especially powerful when you have multiple in-progress patterns — it totals every bead color you need across all of them.
